Timing Belt Service:
12. Timing Belt Service: The timing belt drives the camshaft to allow the engine to run properly. Most overhead camshaft engines use a timing belt. The timing belt is a rubber belt that weakens with age. Failure of this belt can cause collateral engine damage to the valves and pistons. Scheduled maintenance of this belt and associated components is critical to trouble free engine operation. Our scheduled maintenance of the timing belt may include replacement of the balance shaft belt, tensioner or idler pulleys, and shaft seals.
Recommended service interval: 4 YEARS or 90,000 MILES
